The deadline to apply for 2023-2024 is May 30th.

Completed applications received after May 30th will be reviewed when all required documents are submitted. Students will be placed on a waiting list and notified by July 17th with a final decision.

You should apply as soon as possible! We are accepting applications for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders until the class is full. For freshman applications, priority is given to applications received before January 13th. However, you are encouraged to turn in your application sooner! Financial Aid priority aid is December 22. For those applications received after January 13th, we process and evaluate the applications on a rolling basis once we have finished processing those applications received on or before the priority deadline.

Yes, all students are required to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). We take a holistic approach when reviewing applications. Admissions will review grades, recommendations, HSPT results, and STAR/CAASPP.

No, students of all faiths or denominations are welcome. The school is open to all; however, it should be understood that it is a Catholic, Jesuit institution and religion classes, monthly liturgical celebrations, and spiritual retreats are part of the school.

We have a rigorous college preparatory curriculum offering a recognized diploma. Students should expect to be challenged and work hard to attain the skills that will lead them to succeed in college and beyond. Students can opt to take various AP and Honors courses offered.

Yes, Verbum Dei Jesuit offers the opportunity to gain college credit via Advanced Placement (AP) classes and offerings. Students can elect to take one of the many AP classes we offer and take an AP test at the conclusion of the class. Students who earn a high enough score on the test can request that the College Board send the report to their prospective college or university. Students can also work with college counselors to take college courses over the summer.

Yes, sports offered include football, cross-country, soccer, basketball, baseball, and track & field. Our sports compete as part of CIF.

Clubs and other activities are determined based on student interest and the availability of sponsors, but currently include clubs such as Film Club, Robotics, LA Strong (Medical interests), Creative Writing, Yearbook, The Black Student Union, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honor Society, Latino Student Union, Emerging Leaders and many more.

Yes, the school is designed to reflect the dress and atmosphere of a corporate workplace. As such, the students wear a uniform daily. All students will be taught to dress and groom themselves in a manner appropriate for a professional work environment.

Yes, as a requirement for admission, all students must be 14-years-old and have the necessary documentation to be legally employed in the USA. Students who cannot hold a job cannot remain in the academic program.

Students are interviewed and evaluated and their interests and skills are taken into consideration with job placement. Ultimately, the Corporate Work Study Program team decides where each student will work each year.

We only accept a few transfer students mid-year. Students must demonstrate maturity, academic integrity, and interview to apply for January admissions. Otherwise, students will be considered for the following academic year.
